Who we are
Sartaj Library is an ebook, audiobook and AI reading app developed by Code's Cafe. This policy explains what we collect when you use the app, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Account details: your name, mobile number with its country code, and a password, which is stored only as a one-way hash. If you continue with Google we also receive your email address and Google account name.
Preferences: the reading languages and categories you pick during onboarding, and your reader settings.
Reading activity: your library, wishlist, downloads, reading and listening progress, ratings, and the totals shown on your profile.
AI Reader: the questions you ask and the passage of the book they refer to.
Subscription: the plan you are on and when it renews. Payments are handled by the Play Store or App Store; we never see your card or bank details.
How we use it
To create and secure your account, sign you in, and send one-time codes when you verify a number or reset a password.
To build your shelves and recommendations, remember where you stopped, and keep your library in step across devices.
To answer AI Reader questions and to run your subscription.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not show third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the services the app needs to work: Google and Firebase when you choose Google sign-in; an SMS provider, which receives your number to deliver one-time codes; Anthropic, whose Claude model answers AI Reader questions and receives the question, the passage and the recent conversation; and the Play Store or App Store for purchases. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
Storage and security
Your data is kept on our servers and sent over encrypted HTTPS. On your phone, the sign-in token is held in the system keystore (Android) or keychain (iOS), and downloaded books stay on the device until you remove them or sign out.
We keep your account data for as long as your account is open.
Your choices
You can review your details on your profile, change your languages, and remove downloads at any time. To get a copy of your data or have your account and its data deleted, write to support@codescafe.org from your registered email or mention your registered mobile number, and we will act on it within 30 days.
Children
Sartaj Library is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes we will update it here and revise the date at the top. Questions about your privacy can be sent to support@codescafe.org.
